What do you want to know?

Ok class, your blog assignment today is to write about the things you want to learn about concerning the law, lawyers, social services (victim's advocates, child and protective services), politics, law enforcement, civil rights movements and figures, etc. The more detailed you are the better Mrs. Coy and I can be in incorporating these requests into our future lessons.

  4. I want to know more about the court of law, as in laws themselves. I want to know what's legal where, and what's illegal. I want to know how to defend someone on my feet without months of preparation. I want to know about criminal justice. Even though I know government and politics are important, I'd rather focus on the basics I'm going to need to be able to recite and elaborate on when I'm nan attourney. I want to be preared to deal with the law, and the reasons for it.

  5. I would like to learn as much as i can about the Law, I want to learn about famous court cases. I would like to learn about how a court case works, and what tactics lwayers have tried in a court case that has been most successful. I think it would be really neat to just sit in on a court case. I'd like to see two lawyers at work, batteling against each others cases. I thing it would be pretty awesome if we took a field trip to Indianapolis and checked out some cases, or even downtown evansville would be benificial. I would like you guys to teach me everything you can about law. Everything you can, even if I end up not getting into Law as an occupation, I still would love to learn. If we can figure out a way to go to Washington D.C. I personally think that that would be an unbelievable experience. If we can have different types of lawyers come in and teach lessons on law, that would help I think. I also would enjoy doing actual court cases here in class. Anything you can teach me that would help me become a successful lawyer would be much appreciated.

  8. I want to learn more about gay marriage. I personally believe that is wrong to tell people they cannot marry because they are same sex. I think as long as people are happy they should be able to marry whoever they want wether it be man and woman, man and man, or woman and woman. I would also like to learn more about law enforcement!

  17. I am interested in learning what each individual type of lawyer does, such as patent lawyers, divorce lawyers, entertainment lawyers, etc. When I tell people that my dream is to become a lawyer, they also ask which kind, and I really have no answer. I would value an oppurtunity to speak with as many types of lawyers (and judges) as possible to help with that decision. Also, I would love to learn a lot about politics and running for public office. Examples would be how the math in polls work and how diffent politicians tailor their messages for different groups of people. I would also be interested in seeing firsthand where the lawmakers work, so a trip to any type of capital would be beneficial.
